It has been an amazing fall semester at Weemes Elementary! The students have been full of ideas about what we can do in the garden and how we can utilize the materials we find in every space of our edible oasis. Last week, we utilized an idea from one of our 5th graders and reused fall leaves to make festive leaf art. The students collected leaves from the maple trees in and around our garden and then spent time decorating their leaves with metallic pens and sequins. Some students made pikachus…some made snowmen shapes…and others expressed with bedazzled delight using fall leaves as their canvas. We then adorned the finished art leaves on a red ribbon for the students to hang as a festive garland in the classroom 🙂
