Harvest hunt at Atwater Ave

This week at Atwater Ave, the students got a chance to show off their gardening chops with a garden scavenger hunt!

The students were challenged to use their senses and observational skills to find different things in the garden. Many of these were from different lessons we’d had together- root types, learning about seedlings, and that leaves are the best browns for the compost pile!

Of course, many of the students found their favorite garden insect- the humble rolly poly!

After, we all got to prepare a big salad together, and I brought in sunflower seeds as well, which was a big hit.

Thanks for everything, gardeners! It was a pleasure exploring with you.

Until next time,

Ranger Natalie
