Have you heard of the Three Sisters? I read The Legend of the Three Sisters to the club members today … a story that talked about one sister, the oldest, who stood tall, with a green dress and golden hair, a second sister, who could only crawl at first and needed help standing up, and a third sister, with flowers in her hair, who liked to run away. After I read the story, we talked about what it was trying to tell us. The story wasn’t very obvious so I reread parts and together we pieced together that the three sisters are Corn, Beans, and Squash!
Next, we drew pictures of a three sisters garden to help us understand how they worked together and helped each other.
Lastly, we planted pole beans in our garden and enjoyed a yummy snack of popped corn!
