Red cabbage month: April

Sherman Oaks report:

Red cabbage was the main ingredient. They grew up explendit. Aroung 10 cabbages we tasted.

Beets were at the second choice, 8 beets. with and amazing color: Chioggia (Bassano) Beet. Sweet, stripped patterns.

Also the leaves were tasty.

                      

 

                       

Part of our activities were the harvesting of seeds: bok choy, tatsoi and mustard greens. The lesson marked the importance to observed the nature, how from the flowers it turns into seed. Thanks to our pollinators this year: butterfly, hummibirds, ladybug, etc. for creating such an amazing change.

Seed bombs were a highligh: The creating of an fun tool to spread seeds around by using our hands and material that is in our garden.

We created a mix of : clay, wild seeds and water.

We wait 1 week until the seed bombs were completed dry.

we toom a bunch and threw them all around our native garde.

Everything started at my grandma's kitchen back in Mexico. All that she cooked with fresh cut ingredients. I thought her skills were amazing but also have a people coming to our door selling local products like vegetables and fruit it really touched my life. I noticed the difference immediately as I moved to the city, where everything was more expensive and for a cheap meal you would something tasteless and low in nutrients. Missing my hometown I started to investigated about how I can produce food in a small space, how to save money doing this Technics . So everything lead me to a single thing: Urban farming and sustainable. I am still learning about his beautiful world and I am very happy to be sharing this knowledge and of course receiving new information, because we love this home called Planet.
