Main Street students were excited to plant tomatoes for the new summer planting season! First we made sure to pull some lettuce plants that had flowered in order to make way for our new growers.
Stephanie wanted to give the pulled plant a vigorous shake to get the dirt off and thus decided that dancing (with the plant in hand) was the best way to do so!
Then we scoped out the location for our new tomato plants and dug some holes.
For our treat, we cut up some fresh grapefruit, which most students had not tried before. They were pleased to find that the fruit tasted quite sweet and refreshing and were excited about trying it again at home.
