Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the air !

Our days now begin with walking the garden and observing change. This week has seen exceptionally rapid growth. Our cover crops are thriving, our cilantro has bolted, and the narcissus have popped their yellow faces bright and smelling like spring!

The favas are full of flowers and the Tibetan purple barely is a healthy green grain three months after planting.

The children are fascinated at the speed with which things are growing after winters sleep.

We continue to create compost from cafeteria waste, school garden waste and coffee grinds courtesy Trader Joes and Busters in South Pasadena. Three open piles cooking in the heat!
