After months of battling mysterious hands digging for fairies in our garden beds but pulling out flowers, weeds and grains instead, or using our garden signs as swords for battle instruments, our 5th graders compiled a giant mural asking for kindness, respect, care and plain old ‘No Touch’!
The parent body built us a fence with a gate!
The icing on the cake was the ‘problem’ which became the ‘solution’. Our not so mystery purveyors got their own special two week session in the garden designing their own signs, planting their own vegetables and becoming ‘heros’ of their fairly land battle ground.
Peace now prevails – just maybe the Ceanothus will survive, the Sonoran wheat and the spelt will go to grain, and baking bread to eat with all the greens, reds, oranges, purples and whites that grow in welcome peace, might still be a possibility by June! .
