This past Monday, the 8th, was the last day of the garden class rotation for the 3rd graders. Since last week was about warm and cool season veggies, students got to plant and get the garden ready for even more warm season veggies (since their are some in their already). Before heading down to the garden, they were reminded of why the garden is getting warm season veggies, and how we want to “leave it better than we found it”. I cleared part of a bed of dying Nasturtiums,and let the students do the other half, for them to put compost and plant corn. I had also cleared a few other cool season veggies, to have it nice and clear for the students to plant. All classes got to plant either corn or sunflower seeds, spread compost, and do some weeding!
