Today at Toluca Lake Elementary we took a look at the diversity of leaves we have in the garden. Big ones, small ones, some the size of your head! The young ones took time to draw and color the leaves. My older classes were asked to write descriptive words next to their drawings.
Because it was the first day of our rotation we spent a long time wandering through the garden organically exploring the new plants and creatures that live in this space. We found grasshoppers, lady beetles, mint leaves, flowers and many, many leaves!
