The weather is finally cooling down in Los Angeles, and it is time to plant some cool-season root vegetables. Today we planted radishes, carrots, and turnips. Yum!
Aren’t these turnip seeds beautiful?
Our pea plants are looking strong and healthy as they climb the trellis made of branches that our wonderful intern Sara built.
Here we have Sara hard at work on the soil in our garden beds. Thank you Sara!
Today the 2nd graders of Glassell Park Elementary tasted fresh mint and cilantro, and they smelled the aromatic lavender. The used their senses to create beautiful art.
Happy gardening and healthy eating,
-Garden Ranger Ashley
