El Sereno Elementary Gets a Taste of Summer in Fall

At El Sereno Elementary the garden doesn’t seem to feel the fall weather coming. A guacamole recipe teaches students about percentages and translates into what healthy soil contains in the proper proportions. Tomatoes and peppers from the garden continue to be delicious. Who needs chips when you have fresh greens or some carrots?

Greetings, I am happy to be one of the new Garden Rangers this year for EnrichLA. I have a background in Biochemistry as well as Horticulture and Urban Agriculture. As a third generation Los Angeles native I have been invested in improving the living conditions and opportunities in this great city since my time at UCLA.
