More new faces at the garden!

Feb 2nd, 2017, the first day of garden class for the new rotation of students!

One of our classes was a returning class from two rotations ago, so we did a quick review of the rules to follow. They had the chance to go around the garden in groups and write down what they found growing in the garden, and finished off by doing some weeding in the garden.

For the rest of the classes, I introduced myself, and they introduced themselves with a favorite fruit or veggie.  We went over the rules we should follow in the garden like, using our two-finger touch, instead of the “claw”. To end the day, we got to explore the garden to see what type of things we have growing in the garden. Our 6th grade class also introduced themselves but had to come up with a word related to the garden that started with the first letter of their name, and had the chance to do the same activity as the returning class.
