Flower Parts

Flower Parts

Since we learned a little bit of seed anatomy the Monday before, we learned a bit about flower anatomy on March 6th, 2017. We only went over two parts of the flower, the pistil which is the female part and stamen the male part of the flower. Which one receives the pollen and which one produces it. As we went over the parts, we used a real lily, and also “pollinated” with paint brushes. All the kids had a chance to taste edible FLOWERS from Sarvodaya Farms, Radish, Daikon and Mibuna flowers. Everybody got to take one stalk of celery home!
