Parts of the Plant

The week before last we talked about seeds. This week’s  lesson was about the parts of the plant. We went over the six main parts of the plant: Seed, Roots, Stem, Leaves, Flower, and Fruit. We then discussed what function each part serves. After reviewing the parts we played a game. We split up into two teams. Each team had a representative who would share their guess with me. I gave a clue about a plant we eat from each category, and each round the teams guessed what is was. The kids seemed to enjoy this game very much, and said they would play this with their brothers and sisters. In the last activity they were given paper and crayons and instructed to draw a whole plant, vegetable and/or fruit.
