Our garden class on the first week on December was spent learning about the difference between hole (from the Earth) and processed (from a factory) foods. The kids learned about the importance of incorporating plenty of nutrient rich whole foods into their diet. Everyone wrote down 5 of their favorite foods and as a class we figured out which of those foods were whole and which were processed. We then made a whole food recipe together that the kids absolutely loved! We have a lot of kale growing in the garden, so we made a delicious Kale salad. To make the salad you mash avocado and mix it with kale, add tomatoes, salt, and lemon juice. Not one plate was left unfinished!
