Bugs in the garden

Today students learned about all of the different types of bugs that can be found in the garden!  We talked about the importance of pollinators, bugs that help make the soil richer, bugs that eat other pest bugs in the garden, and of course the “bad” bugs that can harm the plants.  Older students played a game of freeze tag called “friends and foes” that helped them learn the names of different bugs and if they are beneficial or detrimental to the garden.  Kindergarteners went on a bug hunt to see if they could find any of the bugs we talked about in our lesson.IMG_1446 IMG_5317 IMG_3854 IMG_5650
