Atwater Herbs

We learned to identify all the herbs growing in our garden at Atwater. The kids got to use their senses – look, smell, touch and taste – to identify the herbs. We made basil pesto and mint tea in the garden! We picked leaves off the basil and mint plant and talked about how all herbs are leaves that we use to make food smell and taste better!




Anne came to Los Angeles from southeast Ohio. She has always been passionate about healthy food and held a great admiration for the natural world. She loves sharing all the joy and wonder of an edible garden with children.
