Seedlings with TAS!

Lots of seedlings were started with The Accelerated School last week.  Each class voted on what cool weather crop they wanted to plant and the winners were broccoli, arugula, cauliflower and radish! We all can’t wait to watch the seedlings grow and transplant them into the garden!  And we made sure to review the parts of a plant so we would know what we will observe sprouting out of the soil.

Originally from Arizona, I was brought out to beautiful Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where I will be graduating come December with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies.  I grew up with a love of gardening from spending summers on my papou’s farm in Greece to helping my parents tend to our personal garden in Arizona.  My passion for the environment and gardening go hand-in-hand and I can’t wait to incorporate lessons from my studies to the students I am teaching at Alta Loma!
