Seasonal foods at TAS!

With the changing weather and coming Spring season we’re getting ready to plant new seeds at The Accelerated School.  We talked about how different crops love different climates and weather and which ones we can expect to see in the months ahead.  The students drew pictures of the different seasonal plants we see in the garden at TAS.  The general consensus was that there was the most excitement for summer and fall crops.  The students are eager to plant pumpkin seeds for a fall harvest.

Originally from Arizona, I was brought out to beautiful Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where I will be graduating come December with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies.  I grew up with a love of gardening from spending summers on my papou’s farm in Greece to helping my parents tend to our personal garden in Arizona.  My passion for the environment and gardening go hand-in-hand and I can’t wait to incorporate lessons from my studies to the students I am teaching at Alta Loma!
