Insect Hunt at TAS!

We were on the hunt for garden insects this week.  After learning about beneficials and pests the students used their magnifying glasses to exam plants for critters.

We also saw progress in seeds we planted the week before in some empty ground space where the pumpkins used to live.  The snow pea seedlings look healthy and strong!

The apple tree also gave us some tasty treats to cut up and enjoy after the bug hunt!

Daphne Lughes

Originally from Arizona, I was brought out to beautiful Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where I will be graduating come December with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies.  I grew up with a love of gardening from spending summers on my papou’s farm in Greece to helping my parents tend to our personal garden in Arizona.  My passion for the environment and gardening go hand-in-hand and I can’t wait to incorporate lessons from my studies to the students I am teaching at Alta Loma!
