A Butterfly’s Life at TAS

We had the beautiful joy of discovering Monarch butterfly caterpillars in TAS garden! They were crawling all over the beds thanks to our milkweed plant, which captured the Monarch’s attention.  This was the first class where we learned about the Monarch and the butterfly’s life as a caterpillar.

Originally from Arizona, I was brought out to beautiful Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where I will be graduating come December with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies.  I grew up with a love of gardening from spending summers on my papou’s farm in Greece to helping my parents tend to our personal garden in Arizona.  My passion for the environment and gardening go hand-in-hand and I can’t wait to incorporate lessons from my studies to the students I am teaching at Alta Loma!
