New Seeds at 6th Ave Elementary

After a quick lesson on plant parts this week, students at 6th Avenue planted corn and radish seeds in the garden. Then the 5th graders broke into groups to start their own seedlings in trays. We chose cucumber, bean and nasturtium seeds so we will be able to plant them in the garden in a few weeks. The students are especially excited about the idea of eating a “spicy flower” (nasturtiums) when they grow large enough to bloom!
