Kelly Burke

Kelly is a (somewhat ) recent graduate of UCLA in International Development, where she learned about agriculuture and food systems, and has since become passionate about awareness of and access to good, sustainable, local food.  She recently started a food-centric blog she’s real excited about (shameless plug) found @ peacemeal.us.  As a little kid, she never thought she’d grow up to be a vegetarian yogi who doesn’t own a tv or microwave, but c’est la vie.

Kelly has been truly impressed with the movers and shakers of Enrich LA and is thankful to be a part of the family.

Emily Maclure

Emily Maclure has been living in Los Angeles for 8 years and works as an event planner and catering coordinator.   She recently took to learning about gardening and thought there would be no better way to get her hands dirty, then to join up with Enrichla.  Born and raised in the Green Mountain State of Vermont,  Emily loves the idea of bringing a bit of ”green ” to local schools and giving kids the ability to have some hands on learning with edible gardens.  There is nothing greater than seeing a community pull together to make a difference.

Angela Jekal

Angela is thrilled to be participating in a movement to get good food to good people via urban agriculture, education, and a phenomenal, results-based work ethic – core values she saw in Enrich LA upon the first build she attended. Every week she sees the subtle changes the students undergo as they understand their food source a little better and how this understanding informs their dietary choices. And she can only imagine how exponential those changes could be with a garden in every school…

Our Volunteers
Our gracious volunteers are the force behind EnrichLA.  They enable us to continue going into schools, and transforming parts of it into lush, edible school gardens- and we do it on a shoestring.
Thank you to everyone involved in our outreach, our garden builds, maintenance of our gardens, fundraising, and just spreading the word about the benefits of on-campus edible gardens!
