“…Based on the success of the Micheltorena School Garden, Chalupowicz and Tomas O’Grady start ENRICHLA, a non-profit organization with the mission of bringing a educational gardens to every school.
Since it’s start at the beginning of 2011 ENRICHLA has built 20 school gardens and runs educational programs in 12 of them…and is slated for construction of 16 more through 2012. It is obvious that Chalupowicz and O’grady are not trying to solve all the planet’s problems, but seem to believe in the possibilities of working at a micro regional scale, affecting it’s most direct aspects = childhood, education and neighborhood.
So every time the backhoe breaks through asphalt in one of the schools and students and community get together to plant a garden, reinforces the believe that even in the most arid of lands gardens can flourish.”
